Favourite Mediums/Modes/Materials
My practice moves between piano, synth, reed organ, illustration, diagrammatic drawing, soft sculpture, hand-woven textiles, homemade instruments, and pedagogical tools. I’m particularly drawn to the Partimento tradition and 18th-century approaches to learning music through doing, experimenting, and improvising, and interested in what these ideas might open up within a contemporary artistic practice.

Hi, I'm Kate, a musician and artist interested in improvisation, musical systems, and the shifting identities of pitch, colour, and character.

I’m currently at the beginning of this exploration, with Switchable Do as a working-title/experiment through which these interests can start to take shape.
